The PURE INSPIRATION 34 thinning scissors combine the exceptional quality of premium powder steel with the functionality of thinning scissors. The 34 teeth create a medium cut that is ideal for versatile volume reduction and balanced structuring—perfect for a wide range of thinning techniques in everyday salon work.

The PURE powder steel used contains 9% vanadium carbide and is manufactured using a sophisticated powder metallurgy process. The result is an exceptionally homogeneous steel structure with extreme hardness, high toughness, and outstanding cutting performance. The special tulip-shaped teeth with precisely ground tooth necks prevent the hair from slipping during cutting and ensure consistent, controllable results.

The high-quality 6-part screw system made of stainless steel reduces the effort required for cutting by up to 40%. The screw system is optimally adjusted at the factory and should not be changed. After prolonged use of the scissors, readjustment is possible.

The ergonomic Offset with anatomically optimized finger rings supports the natural hand position. The 0.4 cm offset thumb rest allows for joint-friendly work, even during longer thinning sessions. The rounded, backward-sloping finger rest provides a secure grip when cutting.

What does the BESS scale value mean?

The BESS value(Brubaker Edge Sharpness Scale) is a standardized measurement for quantitatively determining cutting edge sharpness. The measurement is based on the principle of cutting tests under defined loads: a calibrated test medium is exposed to the cutting edge while the force required in grams (g) to completely cut through the test material is measured. The scale is inversely proportional to sharpness: a lower BESS value indicates greater cutting edge sharpness, as less force is required for the cutting process. By using a standardized, certified test medium under controlled conditions, the BESS method ensures reproducible and comparable measurement results across different blades and manufacturers. For comparison: an ultra-sharp razor blade has a BESS value of approx. 50, while high-quality cutlery has a value of around 300.

What does the BORG-Scala value mean?

The BORG CR-10 scale for tool ergonomics Studies on fabric scissors showed a reduction in perceived effort from traditional designs (higher BORG values) to ergonomic designs through principles such as "bend the tool, not the wrist."
