Thanks to “ CONBLADE ” technology, the “ MYTHOS ” hair scissors offer up to three times longer-lasting cutting performance compared to conventional scissors. The extremely hollow interior with an integrated cutting edge meets the outwardly curved, convex outer blade—a combination that unites razor-sharp precision with exceptional stability.

MYTHOS 's Wave Styling Shears combine the proven " MYTHOS" technology with a special tooth design for creative cutting techniques. The 36 teeth produce a coarser cut, which is ideal for effectively reducing volume and creating striking textural effects. The 42 teeth produce a finer cut, which is ideal for gentle volume reduction and harmonious transitions—perfect for natural-looking results without harsh edges. The special serration, with precisely ground tooth necks, prevents hair from slipping during the cut and ensures even, controllable results.

The high-quality, 6-part screw mechanism of these stainless steel modeling shears reduces the effort required for cutting by up to 40%. The screw mechanism is optimally adjusted at the factory and should not be altered; however, readjustment is possible after the shears have been used for an extended period.

The well-thought-out “ Offset ” design, with its thumb loop offset by 0.5 cm, allows for a natural hand position with both pairs of scissors. With the hair scissors, the wide, rear-sloping finger rest ensures an optimal cutting angle without causing strain; with the texturizing scissors, the rounded, rearward-sloping finger rest provides a secure grip while cutting, even during longer thinning sessions, and the removable finger hook allows for individual adjustment to personal preferences. For left-handed users, select models of the hair scissors are available in a special left-handed version.

What does the BESS scale value mean?

The BESS value(Brubaker Edge Sharpness Scale) is a standardized measurement for quantitatively determining cutting edge sharpness. The measurement is based on the principle of cutting tests under defined loads: a calibrated test medium is exposed to the cutting edge while the force required in grams (g) to completely cut through the test material is measured. The scale is inversely proportional to sharpness: a lower BESS value indicates greater cutting edge sharpness, as less force is required for the cutting process. By using a standardized, certified test medium under controlled conditions, the BESS method ensures reproducible and comparable measurement results across different blades and manufacturers. For comparison: an ultra-sharp razor blade has a BESS value of approx. 50, while high-quality cutlery has a value of around 300.
