The GERA Offset 15) modeling scissors are an innovative hybrid of chunker and texturizer, offering versatile precision for modern styling requirements. The exclusive Niolox steel, developed and manufactured in Germany, is used worldwide exclusively by TONDEO the production of scissors. The addition of niobium, vanadium, and molybdenum, as well as an increased chromium content, give this steel exceptional properties: a hardness of 60±1 HRC combined with a toughness of 50-60 J/cm²—a value that is almost unattainable in this combination. Hardened in the Solingen hardening process at 1100°C, GERA is GERA , nickel-free, and scratch and corrosion-resistant with over 500 hours of resistance in the salt spray test.

The revolutionary miniature axial groove ball bearing with eight stainless steel rolling balls virtually eliminates friction and reduces the required closing force to just 30 grams—a 50% reduction compared to conventional two-piece screw systems. With the finest adjustment in millimeters and a value of 2 on the Borg CR-10 scale for tool ergonomics, this system offers a lifetime warranty. What does the BESS scale value mean?

The BESS value(Brubaker Edge Sharpness Scale) is a standardized measurement for quantitatively determining cutting edge sharpness. The measurement is based on the principle of cutting tests under defined loads: a calibrated test medium is exposed to the cutting edge while the force required in grams (g) to completely cut through the test material is measured. The scale is inversely proportional to sharpness: a lower BESS value indicates greater cutting edge sharpness, as less force is required for the cutting process. By using a standardized, certified test medium under controlled conditions, the BESS method ensures reproducible and comparable measurement results across different blades and manufacturers. For comparison: an ultra-sharp razor blade has a BESS value of approx. 50, while high-quality cutlery has a value of around 300.

What does the BORG-Scala value mean?
